These personal differences are what make this fun, rather than an infinitely self-affirming echo chamber!

I truly enjoy hearing why people love what they love, especially when our tastes differ. Ever since I was a little kid, I've disliked watches with long, thin, stick markers. I can't explain why. Same way I feel about hard-boiled eggs, which register more

Lange 1 Onyx Dial Sets - Observation (and Question)

This is interesting (but maybe only to me -- we'll see). When Lange relaunched in 1994, they began numbering casebacks starting with 110001 and movements starting with 1. So we typically saw a difference of about 110000 between the caseback number and the

Homage to Walter Lange

Just went through a period of considering parting with mine, wanted to trade it in for the white gold perpetual. I really could use a date function at work! Tried, but could not get myself to part with the Homage! The sum is more than the parts (from a di

Rare bird: the Lange 1 "Floral"

This very special Lange 1 ref. 112.046 , was made by A. Lange & Söhne in 2007 for the Japanese market as part of a limited edition of 25 sets , each one comprising a Lange 1 and a Little Lange 1, ref. 111.046. The rose gold case size is 38.5 mm and the so

I hope this IS the beginning of a broader trend.

Your 1815 is the perfect size, as are those Emil Lange and other smaller Lange. I was close to buying a Little Lange 1 myself several years ago. Even though the regular Lange 1 is small in itself I felt the “Little” was perhaps even better. The new 1815s

I did a little social observation experiment when this watch first came out.

The former, short-lived Watches & Wonders Miami (FL) event happened shortly after the debut of this aventurine dial. The Miami Lange boutique was displaying it there. So I stood off to the side during a crowded time on the first night, with many peopl

Yes, we're both right CR...

It is because it's PG but also because of evolution in technique over time: the current 1815 Chronograph and Annual Calendar feature brushed case-backs in PG whereas, as you say, the straight 1815 and Up/Down still do not. Wow, you've made a great point w

Lovely! I too prefer the polished caseback metal on watches like this.

I think yours is polished vs. brushed only because it is rose gold, not so much because of the manufacturing date (though Lange did start brushing more rose gold cases after 2015). Unless I'm mistaken (which is quite possible), this surface is still polis

This press pic of these two "Little Langes" shows two of my favorites.

This top pic is from Deployant. The rose gold moonphase model with the guilloche dial is really well done. The white moonphase disc is perfect for this dial. The bottom wrist in the bottom pic belongs to a former North American Lange brand president. Year
